PROFESSIONAL HONOR HIGHLIGHTS Named Cat Writer of the Year at the 2007 Cat Writers Association's conference for her role as editor of Catnip and author of The Cat Behavior Answer Book. The award, presented by Friskies, is given annually to the writer whose body of work for the year best promotes the welfare of cats. Named one of the original founders of the Catalyst Summit, a group representing veterinarians, behaviorists, shelters, pet companies and the media in 2008. The goal is to educate the public and veterinary profession about the care and welfare of cats. Her books, The Cat Behavior Answer Book and the Dog Behavior Answer Book bested the competition by garnering top training/behavior book honors by the Cat Writers Association and the Dog Writers Association of America. President’s Award, the top award among 35 categories presented at the Cat Writer’s Association’s conference in 2005 for her work as editor of Catnip.
